Customers entering the casinos in the United States in the past few weeks may have notices something in common that all the dealers and other casino employees share. They all have orange rubber bands on their wrists.
The American Gaming association’s member casinos employees all now wear an orange rubber band in order to promote responsible gambling. In a nationwide movement to promote responsible gambling, the association’s employees have begun wearing the bands, and in addition, they have begun to sell the bands in order to raise money for programs dealing with the growing epidemic if gambling addiction that is growing all over the Unites States. While there are many related issues on the subject of the addiction to gambling, it is remains to be seen whether the new venture will be successful in cutting down the number of compulsive gamblers.
However, it is important to remember that compulsive gamblers are addicted to gambling in the same way that drug addicts are addicted to heroin. Although there are no needle marks, there are indeed people who play in the casinos because they feel they have to. They have no choice in the matter at all.…
